Yancheng

YANCHENG is located in the northern Jiangsu plain,on the shore of Yellow Sea. Yancheng Municipality,under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province,administers 6 counties,2 cities and 1 district. It covers an area of 15,000 sq. meters,and its population totals 8.09 million. It has been approved as a coastal economic open area by the State Council in 1988.

YANCHENG Economic Development Zone (YCEDZ) was established in August,1992. It is a provincial development zone approved by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government in October,1993 and was approved to be a provincial new and hi-tech industrial park in March,1996.

The total planned area covers 20 km2. The 6km2 first phase development area can now supply road,water,power,gas,tele-communication,drainage and leveled ground. YCEDZ is located 5km from downtown,8km from Yancheng Airport. The No. 204 state road,Chuanchang river,Tongyu Canal and Xinchang railway go across the zone. It is conveniently endowed with water,land and air traffic facilities.
